When a country receives more international flights, it will only means 4 things : 1. It symbolizes the growth of economy in that country 2. It gains more international confidence toward that country 3. It means the tourism industry is growing 4. It also means that the countrymen travel overseas more. I've been posting many times regarding many international airlines adding more flights to Indonesia. The most recent news is that Emirates just added its flight to Jakarta from 7 flights every week (one flight per day), to 10 flights.
This is what they said : ''Indonesia is investing significantly in developing its MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) infrastructure in order to get a slice of the bustling conference market in the Far East. We are also noticing a growing outbound tourism market from this country as Indonesians increasingly embark on overseas holidays. Emirates' growing services will provide the infrastructure to support this growth" (source: GulfNews.com) I am sure, when Lombok integrated resort of $600 million is completed, more flights will be added to this existing figure.
