PrCompanion_of_the_order_of_australiaesident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, in Canberra, to accept the granting of a badge of honor "Honorary Companion of the Order of Australia" awarded by  the Commonwealth of Australia Governor-General Quentin Bryce AC.

The award was made at the official residence of Governor-General in the "Government House" in Canberra, in a series of honorary state visit by President Yudhoyono in Australia for three days. Appreciation of the President was given for his services to strengthen the Australia-Indonesia relations and promoting democracy and development in Indonesia.

The President is considered to have succeeded in deepening and expanding relations with Australia in various fields such as economics, culture, education and relationships.

The President also has worked well with the Australians in regional stability and prosperity in East Asia summit and APEC, and has successfully increased the active role of Indonesia in global issues such as the G-20. In some instances such as terrorist attacks in Indonesia and natural disasters in Australia and Indonesia, the President has to act fast and full humanity in preparing the necessary leadership of both countries to cooperate for mutual benefit. President Yudhoyono also has led the relations between the two countries in strengthening democracy in Indonesia and maintain the economic reforms that have pushed profits for the people of Indonesia and Southeast Asia region. After achieving the award, President said that this award is an honor for him and hopes to strengthen relations between the two countries and two people to the front.
