I am, admittedly, a HUGE fan of 'Laskar Pelangi' tetralogy books written by Andrea Hirata and the movie versions produced by MILES FILMS. When 'Sang Pemimpi' opened in movie theaters, I was so excited that I flew to Indonesia from KL to catch it on the very first day! I bawled like a baby when in 'Laskar Pelangi', Lintang's father died and thus the bright child has to work to earn a living for his family, killing hopes to pursue a higher education for himself. I shed tears again when I saw 'Sang Pemimpi', which amused my boyfriend ceaselessly. I can't help it, really. The story is just so, phenomenal! Some 200 over students from Republic of Czechs were equally touched when 'Laskar Pelangi' was shown to them in the 2nd largest university in Czechs, Masaryk University in Brno where it received numerous positive feedbacks from them. Many can't stop their tears from flowing, and called the movie 'a high-quality, educative, heart-touching and tears-inducing movie'. Previously, 'Laskar Pelangi' was shown at the Zlin Internasional Film Festival and was the opening movie at the 3rd Indonesian Film Festival in Praha. To date, 'Laskar Pelangi' has received many local and international awards and recognition.
