Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s badminton club PB Djarum Kudus plans to send 20 players to the World Junior Badmintion Championship in Tao Yuan, China Taipei, on October 28-November 6, this year. The chief of the club, Yoppy Rosimin, said here on Tuesday the number was the same as that for the Asian junior championship in India recently. "They will be accompanied by four coaches liken in the India championship. Who will be fielded in China Taipei still has yet to be determined later based upon athletes` readiness," he said. He said Djarum sent quite a lot of players to the championship because it competes not only men`s and women`s single but also men`s and women`s group events offering seven champion titles. Asked about the chance in the championship he said Djarum Kudus has a chance to be the best in men`s and women`s double and mixed double events. "In the men`s and women`s single events the chance is slim. In the women`s single event the champion of "Victor Indonesia International Challenge", Sindhu PV would certainly take part because she is still 16 years old," he said. Sindhu PV defeated Djarum player Fransiska Ratnasari 21-16, 21-11 in 40 minutes in the Victor Indonesia International Challenge. He said the biggest opportunity to win a title was expected to come from mixed double players Lukhi Apri Nugroho/Ririn Amelia who had proven their superiority as the champion at the 2011 Asian championship. "I think the rivals will like before come from Asian and European countries," he said. Regarding the achievement of Djarum Kudus players in the Victor Indonesia International Challenge in Surabaya recently Yoppi said that it was not too disappointing as three of them could become finalists with one of them becoming a champion namely Rian Sukmawan/Rendra/Wijaya in the men`s double event. He said the Russian White Nights 2011 runner-up defeated Malaysian pair Ow Yao Han/Tan Wee Kiong 21-13, 19-21 and 21-16 in 49 minutes. The other finalists in the event were Fransiska Ratnasari in the women`s single and mixed double players Rendra Wijaya/Maria Elfira Christina who were beaten by Andhika Anhar/Kehsya Henadia 15-21 and 19-21. news and image source: antaranews.com
