Facing the Jordanian national soccer team on August 27, 2011 will be the last try-out match for the Indonesian national senior team before playing against Iran on September 2. The national team left Jakarta for Amman, Jordan, on August 23 after beating Palestine 4-1 (0-0 draw in the first round) on August 22 in a friendly match in the Manahan stadium in Solo, Central Java, before around 24,000 spectators. As many as 23 out of 28 players of the country`s team, went to Jordan before facing Iran in the Asian zone qualifying Group E of the Pre-World Cup 2014, the senior team coach assistant Liestiadi said here on Tuesday (Aug 23). According to the national team media officer, Desy Christina in Solo on Tuesday, the 23 players left for Jordan by the Emirates airplane through Jakarta-Dubai-Jordan route. Five players who failed to join the team to Jordan and Iran are Ricardo Salampessy, Ahmad Bustomi, Kurnia Meiga, Gunawan Dwi Cahyo, and Egi Melgiansyah. Ricardo Salampessy and Ahmad Bustomi, according to Liestiadi, was still recovering from injuries and illness, while Kurnia Meiga (goalkeeper) injured his ankle in the training camp in Solo. The other two national team players, namely Gunawan Dwi Cahyo and Egi Melgiansyah did not include in the scheme prepared by the team coach Wim Rijsbergen to be taken to Jordan and Iran, Liestiadi said. Meanwhile, the midfielder Haryono who suffered injuries on his head when playing against the Palestinian team at the Solo Manahan Stadium on Monday (Aug 22) night and contributed one goal, was finally taken to Jordan. Liestiadi said that Haryono`s condition, after suffering from injuries on his right temple with six stitches due to a clash with Palestinian players, has improved. On the try-out match with Palestine, the Palestinian team scored first through Sulaiman Obaid in the 49th minute. The Indonesian team equalized in the 64th minute through Haryono`s heading. The second goal for Indonesia was made in the 70th minute by Christian Gonzales while the third by Bambang Pamungkas seven minutes later. Bambang again scored a goal in the 85th minute to close the game to 4-1 for the host. The match also served as a trial for the Indonesian team who would meet Iran early next month in a Pre-World Cup 2014. Prior to its match against Palestinian team, the Indonesian senior national team shared a 1-1 draw against the country`s junior team of under 23 yars of age (U-23) in the Manahan stadium Solo on Thursday (Aug 18) night. Commenting on the draw results, the All-Indonesia Soccer Association (PSSI) executive committee coordinator for the national team division affairs, Bob Hippy was not yet satisfied to see the results of the friendly match. "I am not satisfied to see the senior team achievement, they still lack of a neat play and lose the ball too fast," Bob said. In the friendly match, the U-23 national team scored first by Septia Hadi in the 25th minute, then the goal for the senior national team created by Bambang Pamungkas through penalty kick in the 59th minute. The national senior team in the first leg of the next Pre-World Cup 2014 round Group E, would face Iran which is believed to be the strongest opponent in the group. In a tossup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil recently, the Indonesian soccer team was put in Group E along with Iran, Qatar and Bahrain. The national team underwent the exercises in the Manahan stadium for 11 days following a five-day training center in Cilegon, West Java. In the meantime, Anjas Asmara, one of the former national soccer team members, suggested that the Indonesian team in the next matches should apply the quick pattern game. Anjas said the character of the Middle Eastern teams such as Iran, Qatar and Bahrain which will become the Indonesian team`s opponents in the third round of the pre-World Cup even frequently apply the fast from foot-to-foot game. The former player of the Jakarta`s Persija eleven also said that the national team should play cheerfully especially in facing the official international matches like the Pre-World Cup Championship. "They should play with the relaxed and happy manner, without tension. Playing in excitement is the characteristic of a team that really enjoys the game to pursuit of victory," Anjas said here on Wednesday. Anjas also criticized the senior national team when playing against Turkmenistan and in facing Palestinian team recently in a try-out match that appeared to be at a loss when facing the opponent attacks. In his suggestion, Anjas also said there should be a "commander" in the middle of the field who can create an atmosphere of joy. For instance, when the senior national team had led 4-1 when facing Turkmenistan, there should be a player who led the team to play happily and enjoyed the game to maintain the victory, he said. In addition, Anjas criticised the game pattern applied by the coach Wim Rijsbergen because the Indonesian players posture is suitable when relying on the long passes. Anjas said the long passes actually can become the backfire to the national team when the opponent can cut the bait and then launch counterattack. According to him, the Indonesian players posture actually similar to that of the Spanish players who are not too high at the average. According to Anjas, the similar pattern of game should be applied in playing against the teams from the Middle East with the much larger role of a midfield players in supplying the ball. "Otherwise, our team will get difficult," Anjas Asmara who pay more attention to the quick foot-to-foot game reminded.   News Source: ANTARA News
