Delegates from 40 countries attending the World Youth Meeting in Ambon on September 30 to October 2 will watch an "Arumbae Manggurabe" boat race during the Ambon Bay Festival on Friday. "The participants of the World Youth Meeting from 40 countries will watch the competition from aboard a ship provided by the organizing committee," head of local tourism and culture service, Florence Sahusilawane, said here on Thursday. The office was to facilitate the youths to see the annual competition to show that the security conditions in Ambon were conducive. "We are cooperating with the KNPI (Indonesia Youth National Committee) as the organizer of the meeting and wish to show to the participants that the security situation in Ambon is getting more conducive so that international as well as national events can be safely held here," he said. KNPI Maluku chief Zaharuddin Lattuconsina welcomed the initiative. "We wish to show to our friends from various countries cultural and tourist attractions in Maluku and real conditions in Ambon," he said. The Ambon Bay Festival is scheduled to be opened by Maluku Governor Karel Albert Ralahalu.
